Furniture Fridays!

Friday

Megan and I have deemed Fridays "Furniture Fridays" - one of the most fun days of the week!  Friday has become our night to drive all over the place to do our furniture pick ups.  We jump into the mini van and off we go.  It's isn't always glamourous you know.  It's a crazy fun time I will say, but highly unpredictable.
For example, this past Friday, we had purchased a piece off Craigslist and met the seller at a hardware store about 30 minutes from our town.  I figured he had the piece (notice I am not revealing what it is?  You'll just have to wait and see!) in the back of his huge red truck, but alas that was not the case.  He rolls down the window and says follow him four miles that way as he points off into the the pitch black darkness.  Any female would shudder at that thought.  I became anxious.  Where was he taking us?  Was he a trustworthy guy or should we be concerned?  Are we naive following him?  Thoughts keep bombarding my mind.  We drove off into the black night into no-man's land.  We live in a rural area so you don't have to go far outside of the town to be in no-man's land really.  So you never can tell what you are getting into. We ended up off the beaten path and felt better when we pulled onto a road with several little cottages on it.  We pulled up in front of the house which had all the lights off.  We didn't get out of the van until the lights were turned on.  I admit I was highly freaked out at this point.  You just never know.  We make it a point to always go together for a pick up.  Still I was texting my husband the whole time with directions as we drove and this guy's license plate number in the event something happened.  It is too bad that I even have to think this way.  It was quite the adventure.
Turns out the man was super nice and was just cleaning out his cottage.  Whew.  It is quite the memory.  See what we go through to bring you awesome things?!?! Let me tell you that what we picked up is SUPERB.  I can't wait to show you all!  We ended the night with dinner at Taco Bell and several hours of painting.  Now, that's what I call a fun night!  Can't wait until next week's furniture Friday to see what adventure we will embark on!

Upcoming Craft Show Announcement

The Blessed Nest is participating in a small craft show at our home church at Beach Lake Free Methodist Church next Saturday, November 5th.  The craft fair runs from 10 am to 4 pm at the church and a portion of the monies raised will go towards our women's ministry trip to Sandy Cove next month which Megan and I have the priviledge of attending!  Please come and stop by to support us as well as the women's ministry group at the church!  There will also be a bake sale so come and fill your bellies as well!

Creations Inspired By YOU!

I thought it may be fun every now and then to highlight some things our readers have created as a result of being inspired by our creations.  I love that we were able to inspire someone!  What a compliment that is!  So without further ado...meet Jill:

Jill McConnell

Jill was inspired by the Blessed Nest's chalkboard sign from the Harvest and Heritage Days show...so she set out to create her own beautiful chalkboard projects! Jill has been a friend of ours for years and we are excited to feature her project!
Look how cute her frames turned out!

Jill was so proud!
And the end result is beautiful!

Great job Jill!
We are so excited we were able to inspire you!

If you have any projects you'd done that we given some ideas or inspiration, we would love to feature you!  Or perhaps you've purchased something from the Blessed Nest and would like to submit a picture of it displayed in your home?  We'd love that too!  Drop us a line with a picture so we all see what you've done!
We can't wait to see what you have created!

A Project In The Works: Charming Dresser

heart this.

We are working on an ADORABLE dresser.  I can already tell this is going to be a hard one to part with.  You see, I am a sucker for dressers.  Dresser redos are definitely my favorite thing to do.  You would be able to see that if you were in my home.  I use dressers everywhere.  Not only in my bedroom, but in the kitchen pantry and the hallway and so on.  Why limit their use to the bedroom?  They are incredibly functional pieces of furniture to be used for so many purposes.  One of my dressers holds decor as well as winter wear for the kids and the other, coloring books, markers and paper for the girls.  I can't wait to show you the one in the works right now.  She is LOVELY.  Stay tuned for the reveal as we finish putting the final touches on her within the next few days!  I can't wait to show you!

Motivation

Pinned Image

Megan and I have been starting a bunch of new pieces this week!  We are excited and have a ton on motivation, but unfortunately not a lot of time.  We both work full-time jobs so our work on The Blessed Nest occurs outside of our regular full-time jobs and family and church responsibilities.  We are working hard to be able to bring some more things to you soon that we are very excited about...stay tuned as we continue to attempt to juggle it all!  Thanks for following ... we are so glad you are here!
