And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda...

Here in the "nest" we're kept pretty busy breathing new life into the "unloved" pieces of furniture we find and it's not always easy to see them drive off in somebody elses vehicle.  We do take comfort, however, in knowing that each and every piece is going to a loving new home!  Today I thought you might like to see one of the pieces that I just couldn't let go.....  Every now and then Stacey and I actually find some time to recreate something special for ourselves and last weekend was that time!  I like to call her "Waltzing Matilda".

Here is a picture of Matilda in her "before" state.  Not bad, but she needed some work.

When I saw her, it was love at first sight and I new I needed her for my dining room.  She did need some work on her back leg, which my husband fixed in a jiffy, not to mention a coat or two (or three) of paint to cover the scrapes, scratches and cup marks.  After a coat of Annie Sloan's Soft Wax to finish her off, she was a gleaming thing of beauty and is now proudly gracing my dining room with her presence.  It is my pleasure to introduce you to "Waltzing Matilda"!

Don't you agree that she's a keeper?  Needless to say, she will not be making any appearances at our upcoming craft shows.  There are, however,  more teaser pictures on the way of things that will be at the show, so keep watching!
