Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String

Every so often we just feel the need to "dish" on the fabulous things we see and just love!  To keep in the spirit of things, I've written our version of the "Favorite Things" song from the Sound of Music!

Going to yard sales in summer and spring,

These are a few of our favorite things!

Sewing up pillows and painting a chair,

Finding free nightstands that come in a pair,

Distressing a piece with some nicks and some dings,

When the paint spills and the seams rip and we’re feeling sad….

We simply remember our favorite things and then we don’t feel……so bad!

The Fall Fun Has Just Begun!

As many of you know, we have been hoping and praying for a location and we are still looking for the perfect place.  There are, of course, a lot of things that need to work out for that to happen, but we are trusting God to either open or close that door in His perfect time.  Please pray along with us!  In the meantime, we are getting some fabulous new pieces ready to show you at our upcoming show in downtown Honesdale (Harvest and Heritage Days - Oct. 6th & 7th).  This year, instead of our usual "teaser" pictures, we will show you some of the actual pieces available for purchase.  Stay tuned...good things come to those who wait!

P.s.  If you're looking for some fun family time to celebrate the upcoming season, our church (Beach Lake Free Methodist) is hosting a Fall Festival on September 30th!  This is a FREE event for the ENTIRE family and yes, Stacey and I will be there having fun with our families as well!

Yard Sales.....The BEST Thing Since Sliced Bread!

Even though autumn is just around the corner, there is still time to squeeze in a few more shopping trips to some of my favorite places.....the yards and garages of my neighbors!  Labor Day weekend is always a great time to get in some last minute "picking" and frankly, I LOVE it! 

Today was an especially great day for some awesome finds......

Stools ~ A Sweet $3 Each!

These stools are solid wood and fabulous!  I can't wait to start creating something special with them!  Stay tuned, you might just see them again (wink, wink)!

 

My other favorite find/deal of the day is this adorable child sized chair....

I actually bought four of them altogether!

 

Children's Chairs ~ $2.50 Each!

 

I have the perfect table to put these with once they've been cleaned up and painted antique white.  I think that there will also be some light distressing involved as well.  Sorry to say, these chairs are already reserved for two special little girls.  You may see them again, but they won't be for sale.
